Overview
What We Built
Flowboo is our own shipped mobile product: a colour-connection puzzle game for iPhone, iPad, and Android. Players join matching pandas with paths and fill the board. The app combines a 360-puzzle campaign with daily challenges and a Weekly Cup. It provides a concrete example of the product development, backend integration, and release work Codent can bring to a mobile project.

The Challenge
What We Were Up Against
The product needed to feel simple while handling several different states: a guest playing offline, an account saving progress, a player joining online rankings, and a subscriber restoring a purchase. These are separate engineering problems even when the main game interaction is small.
Requirements we had to address
- 1Make the core puzzle usable without an account or network connection
- 2Separate local play from online account, save, and ranking features
- 3Connect store purchases to subscription benefits
- 4Prepare one product for the different requirements of iOS and Android
Our Approach
How We Solved It
We built the mobile experience with React Native and Expo, with TypeScript across the app. Local progress supports guest play; Supabase supports connected accounts, cloud saves, and ranking features. Subscription integration supports the optional Flowboo Plus offering. The public store listings let prospective clients inspect the released product rather than relying on a mockup.
Key engineering decisions
- React Native app with shared product logic across platforms
- Local guest progress and connected account features
- Daily and weekly puzzle modes
- Optional subscriptions alongside the free experience
Part 1 of 3
An offline core with connected features
Guest players can start a puzzle and keep progress on their device. Accounts, cloud saves, and rankings need an internet connection. Defining that boundary makes the experience clearer and gives the product a useful core even when connectivity is unavailable.
Part 2 of 3
Subscriptions are part of the product
Flowboo Plus offers an optional ad-free experience and additional daily hints. Subscription status, restoration, and the free experience all need to fit into the same interface. This is the kind of integration work that also appears in membership, fitness, and learning apps.
Part 3 of 3
What this means for your app project
A working app includes more than its main screen. Accounts, persistence, purchases, release assets, privacy information, and maintenance all affect the scope. We use that experience to help define what your first release needs and which features can wait.
